The price level of imported rebar in the UAE market is at around AED 3,150/mt ($858/mt) delivered to site on a theoretical weight basis for 3- and 4-month deferred payment, excluding VAT.

It is possible to see price levels of up to AED 3,200 ($871/mt) in the local UAE market. On the other hand, it is also possible to find price levels below AED 3,100/mt ($844/mt) when payment is on cash basis.

On the import market side, the offers from Saudi Arabia and Qatar are fairly high compared to the ex-Turkey offers. Most buyers prefer not to make purchases for April shipments and to bide their time instead; meanwhile, the price from Turkey according to market reports is at $770-780/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis. Also, producers have not been showing much aggression and are maintaining a wait-and-see stance for the time being.
