Most of the mills in Turkey's Izmir region are out of the market. Traders' prices for 12 mm rebar are currently at TRY 920/mt ($593/mt).
Prices on a Turkish Lira basis have started to decrease in parallel with the softening in the $/TRY exchange rate. However, prices on a US Dollar basis are still high. It is not possible to see the activity levels of two weeks ago in the current market. Most of the players in the domestic market are waiting for Europe to return from holidays in order to see what direction the export market will take.
