Rebar prices in local Turkish market

The demand in the Turkish rebar market was strong at the beginning of the week. However, it has slowed down slightly towards the end of the week with the slackening in the US Dollar exchange rate. Currently, domestic prices are unusually below export price levels. Contractors have not concluded their expected purchases yet. Most of the market players consider that rebar consumption will increase in March, with prices reaching their expected levels. The majority of producers in the Marmara region are currently out of the market. It is possible to find prices at TRY 905-910/mt from traders in the Izmir region. Payas is implementing a TRY 20/mt discount. The new prices are at the following levels:

Marmara Region: 

8-12 mm TRY 920/mt (approx. $558/mt)   


Payas area: 
Small dia:  TRY 950/mt (approx. $576/mt)
Large dia:  TRY 940/mt (approx. $570/mt) 


Izmir area: 

8-12 mm TRY 920-955/mt (approx. $558-579/mt)
