Rebar prices in local Turkish market

Turkish domestic rebar prices are continuing their upward trend. After the holiday the increase in the US Dollar / TRY exchange rate contributed to an increase in TRY-prices. Furthermore, the ongoing increases in scrap and export prices boosted rebar price levels. Most producers in Turkey's Marmara region are out of the market. The demand from the wholesale traders is strong. Most of the firms have stocks, but contractors and small traders, who are working for contractors, seem not to have entered the market yet. New prices are at the following levels:

Marmara Region: 
Small dia:  TRY 890/mt (approx. $526/mt)
Large dia:  TRY 890/mt (approx. $526/mt)


Payas area: 
Small dia:  TRY 930/mt (approx. $550/mt)
Large dia:  TRY 920/mt (approx. $544/mt) 


Izmir area: 
Small dia:  TRY 920/mt (approx. $544/mt)
Medium dia: TRY 910/mt (approx. $538/mt)
Large dia:  TRY 900/mt (approx. $532/mt)


Trading firms' prices in Karabuk area: 
Small dia:  TRY 925/mt (approx. $547/mt) 
Large dia:  TRY 900/mt (approx. $532/mt) 

All TRY prices include 18% VAT and are ex-works, but prices in Karabuk area are ex-warehouse. USD equivalents exclude VAT. 1 USD = 1.4335 TRY
