Rebar price rise continues in local Turkish market

The latest rebar transaction prices in the Payas area were today, Tuesday, in the range of $1,048-91,055/mt, excluding VAT (TRY 1,590-1,600/mt, including VAT). However, sales were closed in the afternoon. Not all producers in the Marmara region are in the market now. The mills in Izmir are pushing for above the price level of TRY 1,600/mt

including VAT ($1,055/mt, excluding VAT). Traders are concluding sales at TRY 20/mt lower than the level in question.

The rising scrap, billet and rebar export prices are all providing support for the local Turkish market.

The new prices are at the following levels: 

Marmara region:

12 mm

$1,050-1,100/mt + VAT

Payas region:

Small dia.

TRY 1,600/mt ($1,055/mt)

Large dia.

TRY 1,590/mt ($1,048/mt)

Izmir region:

8 mm

TRY 1,620/mt ($1,068/mt)

10 mm

TRY 1,610/mt ($1,061/mt)

12 mm

TRY 1,600/mt ($1,055/mt)

All TRY prices include 18 percent VAT and are ex-works.

USD equivalents exclude VAT.
