Rebar price rise continues in local Turkish market

The rebar transaction prices in the Payas area are in the range of $961-967/mt, excluding VAT (TRY 1,490-1,500/mt, including VAT).

The rebar prices in the local Turkish market are increasing due to the lower demand levels of traders compared to the March levels and also due to the strong billet prices. It is expected that the prices will rise further on account of the strong billet and scrap costs, even if currently there is not that much consumption.

The new prices are at the following levels:

Marmara region:

12 mm

TRY 1,450-1,500/mt ($935-967/mt)

Payas region:

Small dia.

TRY 1,520/mt ($980/mt)

Large dia.

TRY 1,510/mt ($974/mt)

Izmir region:

10 mm

TRY 1,460/mt ($942/mt)

12 mm

TRY 1,450/mt ($935/mt)

All TRY prices include 18 percent VAT and are ex-works.

USD equivalents exclude VAT.
