Following an 8 percent increase in early July, Brazilian producers are still negotiating rebar for export at $467/mt, FOB conditions, having the CA-50, 10mm thickness product as reference.

Due to a demand crisis in the local civil construction sector, the Brazilian producers have moved their attention to exports, which reached 65,400 mt in July, 21 percent more than in June.

Gerdau exported rebar on average at $443/mt, while the Votorantim group exported at $432/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May.

Most of the export volume of July, 51,000 mt, was shipped by Gerdau to clients and associated companies in South America.
