Rebar demand improves in local Israeli market

This week, Israeli mills' rebar offers to their local market have remained unchanged as compared to last week, and are still at $810-820/mt ex-works, excluding 16 percent VAT, on actual weight basis. In the meantime, it is also reported that rebar prices in some transactions between traders may be lower than this range.

The rainy weather has cleared up in Israel and so activity has resumed on construction projects in the country. As a result, rebar demand in the Israeli domestic market has shown some improvements. Israeli buyers are evaluating price offers with a view to concluding new deals and it is heard that they will likely conclude purchases very soon as their inventories are at low levels.

In addition, Turkish rebar offers to Israel are at $700-710/mt CFR for end of April shipment, though no transaction has been concluded at this price range so far.
