SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

524-532

Thrace

517-525

Izmir

510-521

Iskenderun

480-490

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have been in the range of $480-532/mt ex-works over the past week, while transaction activity has been fairly quiet. Some Turkish wire rod producers have cut their production capacity utilization rates, causing tightness in availability in some regions, while oversupply continues to be seen in other regions due to stocks of Chinese wire rod. Turkish wire rod traders prefer to focus on the export market instead of on the domestic market, though demand in the export markets is not reported to lively.
