SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers' price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

436-442

Thrace

420-427

Izmir

414-420

Iskenderun

430-436

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, domestic producers' wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have increased by $14-16/mt week on week to $414-442 mt ex-works. The upward price revision by Turkish steel producers has mostly been due to the strengthening of the US dollar against the Turkish lira. Also, demand for wire rod has increased slightly in the Turkish market after Ramadan and there are plenty of inquiries in the market. Market sources state that further price increases may be seen in the wire rod market in the coming period amid increased inquiries and against the backdrop of the slight increase in demand in the Turkish rebar market.
