Prices rise slightly in Syrian domestic long steel market

In Syria, following the government's decision to allow the construction of new buildings, demand has shown a steep increase in the domestic market, with prices moving up slightly.

SteelOrbis has been informed that, in the Syrian longs market, prices of imported angles are at SYP 38,000-38,500/mt ($801-811/mt) ex-warehouse, imported IPN/UPN prices are at SYP 38,000-38,500/mt ($801-811/mt) ex-warehouse, while flat and square bar prices are at the level of SYP 36,500-37,000/mt ($769-780/mt) ex-works. All prices are on actual weight basis, for weekly deferred payment and excluding VAT.
 
On the other hand, local mills' rebar prices in the Syrian market stand at SYP 35,000-35,500/mt ($738-748/mt) ex-works, on actual weight basis, excluding VAT, and for cash payment.
