Prices in Syrian domestic long steel market

SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that demand was lively in the Syrian domestic long steel market this week. Market players indicate that active demand may be sustained in the coming period.

SteelOrbis has been informed that, in the Syrian longs market, prices of imported angles are at SYP 36,500-37,000/mt ($783-793/mt) ex-warehouse, imported IPN/UPN prices are at SYP 36,500-37,000/mt ($783-793/mt) ex-warehouse, while flat and square bar prices are at the level of SYP 35,000-35,500/mt ($750-761/mt) ex-works. All prices are on actual weight basis, for weekly deferred payment and excluding VAT.
 
On the other hand, local mills' rebar prices in the Syrian market stand at SYP 33,000-33,500/mt ($708-718/mt) ex-works, on actual weight basis, excluding VAT, and for cash payment.
