A Brazilian exporter told SteelOrbis that since May 1 he has maintained a level of $486/mt, FOB conditions, as the base price for the negotiations of rebar exports, having the CA50, 10mm thickness product as reference.

He mentioned that this applies to fresh sales, while previous contracts are being negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

In April, Gerdau exported rebar in average at $462/mt, while the Votorantim group exported at $496/mt, both FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in February.
