As SteelOrbis has heard, in the local Turkish market merchant bar prices depending on size, thickness and region are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 1,310-1,380/mt ($618-651/mt), angles are at TRY 1,310-1,380/mt ($618-651/mt), while flat bars are at TRY 1,330-1,400/mt ($627-660/mt). All prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT.
Transaction activity in the Turkish merchant bar spot market has been stagnant since last week, while market sources say that domestic buyers are only placing orders in line with their needs and are avoiding high stock levels.
Also, it should be considered that some mills may give offers below these levels depending on their stocks.
