Nucor-Yamato to increase WFB prices for August

SteelOrbis has learned that Nucor-Yamato Steel Company will be increasing its wide flange beam (WFB) transaction prices by $65 /nt ($3.25 cwt. or $72 /mt) for August shipments. 

Effective with shipments during the month of August, Nucor's raw materials surcharge (RMS) will be $443 /nt ($22.15 cwt. or $488 /mt), an increase of $65 /nt ($3.25 cwt. or $72 /mt) from the company's July RMS.  Nucor will leave base prices at July levels, resulting in a net increase in transaction prices of $65 /nt for August shipments. 

Also effective August 1, 2008, Nucor's fuel surcharges are as follows:  truck - 45%; rail - 34.5%.
