Nucor ups bars and structurals by $15/nt

Nucor Corporation has announced to customers that it will raise transaction prices for rebar, merchant bar, and structural products (excluding wide flange beams) by $15 /nt ($0.75 cwt. or $16.50 /mt), effective with February deliveries. The $15 /nt net increase in prices is a result of a $25 /nt ($1.25 cwt. or $27.50 /mt) increase in the raw material surcharge, and a $10 /nt ($0.50 cwt. or $11 /mt) decrease in base prices for these products. Nucor's February RMS for rebar, merchant bar, structural products, and wide flange beams will be $93 /nt ($4.65 cwt. or $102.50 /mt), compared to January's RMS of $68 /nt ($3.40 cwt. or $75 /mt). Late last week Nucor announced it will increase wide flange beams transaction prices by $25 /nt in February, keeping base prices stable.
