Nucor Steel announced to US customers on July 11 that pricing for its rebar, merchant bar and structural products will be up in August.

Effective with shipments as of August 1, 2008, the company's raw materials surcharge (RMS) applicable to rebar, merchant bar and structural products will be $443 /nt ($488.33 /mt or $22.15 cwt.), representing an increase of $65 /nt ($71.65 /mt or $3.25 cwt.) compared to the July RMS.

Nucor will keep the base prices the same and pass the raw materials surcharge increase to customers. Therefore, the net increase is $65 /nt ($71.65 /mt or $3.25 cwt.)
