Nucor goes for another partial decrease, drops rebar $20/nt

Nucor announced late Monday that effective July 17, 2012, the Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to concrete reinforcing bars will be $165/nt ($8.25 cwt. or $182/mt), representing a $45/nt ($2.25 cwt. or $50/mt) decrease from the June 8, 2012 surcharge.

Additionally, Nucor will increase the base price for rebar by $25/nt ($1.25 cwt. or $28/mt).  The net effect of this move is that transaction prices for will decrease by $20/nt ($1.00 cwt. or $22/mt).

 

July 17 RMS

$8.25 cwt. ($182/mt or $165/nt)

June 8 RMS

$10.50 cwt. ($231/mt or $210/nt)

June 1 RMS

$13.40 cwt. ($295/mt or $268/nt)

May 1 RMS

$13.40 cwt. ($295/mt or $268/nt)

April 1 RMS

$13.90 cwt. ($306/mt or $278/nt)
