In a letter to customers Tuesday, Nucor announced that transaction prices for rebar and merchant bar will remain unchanged for June, despite any changes in this month's raw materials surcharge (scrap prices have not yet officially settled).
The move follows Gerdau Long Steel North America's sideways price announcement earlier this week, which also mentioned that prices could vary after the company reviews its fuel and freight charges. Nucor made no mention of freight in its letter.
