Effective with shipments March 1, 2011, Nucor Bar Mill Group's Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to concrete reinforcing bars, merchant bars and structural products will be $293/nt ($14.65 cwt. or $323/mt), reflecting a decrease of $15/nt ($0.75 cwt. or $17/mt) when compared to the February 1-applicable surcharge.
In addition, Nucor will increase base prices by $15/nt-the net effect of this move is that transaction pricing for reinforcing bars, merchant bars and structural products will remain unchanged.
