Effective with shipments September 1, 2010, Nucor Bar Mill Group's Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to concrete reinforcing bars, merchant bar and structural products will be $180/nt ($9.00 cwt. or $198/mt), reflecting an increase of $32/nt ($1.60 cwt. or $35/mt) when compared to our July 13, 2010 surcharge.
Additionally, the company will decrease the base price for concrete reinforcing bar, merchant bar and structural products by $7/nt ($0.35 cwt. or $8/mt). The net effect of this move is that transaction pricing for concrete reinforcing bars, merchant bar and structural products will increase by $25/nt ($1.25 cwt. or $28/mt).
