The price of domestic Mexican wire rod fell US$15/mt-ex mill during the last two weeks to reach $484/mt ex-mill.

While the Mexican peso against the dollar continues to impact input prices in the construction sector, sources said by next year costs could increase 3 percent in annual terms.

The implementation of new financial instruments for infrastructure development during the second half of the current government’s administration will not only allow a balance of the effect of budget cuts, sources say, but also represent a boost to the construction industry.
