The price of domestic Mexican wire rod fell US$5/mt during the last two weeks, to reach $722/mt ex-mill.

However, industry sources expect the sector to grow by 4.4 percent next year and reach an expansion of 6.2 percent in 2016.

The expectation for 2015 is slightly better than a previous estimate of 4.0 percent announced last month. The industry expects to end the year with growth of 2.0 percent after a fall of 4.5 percent in 2013.
