The price of Mexican wire rod fell US$2/mt during the last two weeks, to the level of $779/mt.

While some sources believe that the domestic demand for wire rod could remain stagnant through Easter, sources tell SteelOrbis that the construction industry has continued its losing streak from last year, with 32 states in the country reporting financial results in the red, reflecting the national contraction of 3.9 percent, according to official data.
