Since last Tuesday slight increases have been seen in prices in the Turkish domestic merchant bar market due to changes in the $/TRY exchange rate. While the prices have remained unchanged on a TRY basis in some regions, in other regions small increases have been observed. As of today, November 14, merchant bar prices in this market, depending on size, thickness and region, are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 960-990/mt ($589-608/mt), angles are standing at TRY 940-990/mt ($577-608/mt); while flat bars and square bars are at TRY 940-1,000/mt ($577-614/mt) and 80-100-120 mm IPE are at TRY 1,030-1,250/mt ($632-767/mt) - all prices are ex-works, on actual weight basis and excluding VAT. However, it should be taken into consideration that some mills can offer below these levels depending on their stock levels.
