This week the local Italian merchant bar market has been maintaining its sluggish situation. Although it is observed that raw material prices have been increasing slightly since the start of this week, no resulting impact has been observed on base prices in this market. Currently, the price levels of merchant bars sized 140 mm and below are in a range of €850-900/mt ($1,315-1,392/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, on actual weight basis.
