The local Italian merchant bar market has been maintaining its sluggish situation. In line with the raw material prices, which have been slow for two weeks, no great amount of increase has been observed in the base prices in this market. Currently, the price levels of merchant bars sized 140 mm and below are in a range of €830-855/mt  ($1,288-1,372/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, on actual weight basis.
