The merchant bar prices in the local Italian market have been increasing just as in the other Mediterranean markets. Currently, while the price level of merchant bars sized 140 mm and above is ranging at €635-685/mt ($1,006-1,085/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, on actual weight basis, it is expected that this price range will be affected by the recent scrap cost increase.
