Even though global long steel prices have been following an upside trend, quotations in the Bulgarian domestic market have failed to register increases due to the harsh winter conditions and low demand. Meanwhile, local steelmakers have maintained their previous price levels, while their capacity utilization rates have shrunk amid sluggish demand.

SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that rebar offers in the Bulgarian domestic market are at BGN 940/mt ($627/mt), while wire rod prices can be found between BGN 965-970/mt ($643-647/mt).

In the meantime, equal angle prices stand at BGN 1,150-1,180/mt ($767-787/mt), flat bar quotations are at BGN 1,150-1,200/mt ($767-800/mt), while HEA, NPI, NPU and IPE are being offered at price levels of BGN 1,230-1,250/mt ($820-833/mt).

Discounts of up to BGN 20-30/mt ($13-20/mt) are available in the market depending on customers' location and the payment terms, while all the above offers are on CPT basis and exclude VAT.
