According to market sources, demand in the local Turkish merchant bar market is currently at medium levels, while the local market has come under negative pressure due to the inability to push merchant bar volumes into the overseas markets. Market sources state that local price levels have been successfully resisting such negative pressure.

Meanwhile, in the local Turkish market merchant bar prices depending on size, thickness and region are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 1,220-1,300/mt ($550-586/mt), angles are at TRY 1,220-1,300/mt ($550-586/mt), while flat bars are at TRY 1,230-1,310/mt ($554-590/mt).
