According to market sources, ex-CIS billet offers have remained unchanged since last week and are still at $490-500/mt FOB, while many transactions from the CIS to the Middle East and North Africa have been concluded in this price range. CIS billet producers state that demand is lively and so they see no reason for discounts.

Billet offers from the CIS to Turkey have also remained unchanged over the past week at $505-515/mt CFR. Market sources report that import deals for ex-CIS billet have been concluded in Aliaga, Turkey in the price range in question.

While the demand situation in the billet export markets and the price policies of scrap suppliers are expected to be the main factors shaping CIS billet prices in the coming period, CIS billet producers have stated they have no plans to revise their prices during Ramadan unless there is a revision in import scrap prices.
