SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers' price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

390-400

Thrace

385-390

Izmir

410-414

Iskenderun

390-400

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, over the past week domestic producers' wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have declined by TRY 28-93/mt on average. The lively demand recorded in the local Turkish market before the Feast of Sacrifice holiday has started to slacken during the past week and is now at weak levels. Meanwhile, Turkish buyers are unwilling to conclude purchases before the early elections to be held on November 1 and are maintaining a wait-and-see stance.
