According to market sources, Turkish producers' domestic billet prices have decreased by $15/mt on average during the past week to $310-320/mt ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. Local billet suppliers report that buyers' firm bids are lower than $300/mt ex-works. No new sale has been heard in the market over the past week, while Turkish steel producer Kardemir has also failed to attract interest with its new billet prices which were announced on October 5.
Meanwhile, ex-China billet prices for Turkey are at $260/mt CFR, while ex-CIS billet prices for the same destination are at $285-290/mt CFR.
