During the past week, cold drawing free cutting steel prices in the Turkish domestic special steel market have moved up due to the decline seen in global supply amid the closure of the ArcellorMittal plant in Spain. On the other hand, SteelOrbis has been informed that ArcelorMittal has switched its free cutting steel production to Germany where it is producing on a small scale and is currently receiving orders for small tonnages to test output at its German plant.
In the same period, hot rolled carbon steel prices in Turkey have declined due to the decreases seen in both domestic and international prices of billet which is the raw material for hot drawing special steel. On the other hand, hot rolled heat treatable and spring steel inventories in the Turkish market are relatively low compared to other special steel inventories. As a result, heat treatable steel quotations have remained unchanged over the past week.
