SteelOrbis has been informed that rebar demand in Jordan has maintained its weak trend of last week. In addition, rebar demand and local rebar prices are predicted to move downward in the coming weeks, due to the uncertain economic situation of the country and the political instability in Syria, whose ports are used to import rebar and steel billet to Jordan.

Currently, medium sized rebar prices in Jordan are standing at the price range of JOD 640-645/mt ($902-909/mt) ex-works, including eight percent VAT, on actual weight basis, for 30-day deferred payment. This price range indicates a softening of JOD 5/mt ($7/mt) as compared to last week.

JOD 1 = $1.409
