SteelOrbis has learned that in the Italian market local producers' domestic rebar prices are at around €435/mt ($539/mt) ex-works, with peaks of €445/mt ($552/mt). Local demand has remained weak.

Meanwhile, Italian rebar producers are not willing to issue any offers for the export markets, partly because of a lack of availability of material for sales amid a general reduction in their outputs, partly because of a lack of demand. Moreover, Italian producers are not inclined to grant the prices that traders are asking for, i.e., less than €410/mt ($508/mt) FOB. No Italian producer seems willing to give such low prices.
