Import wire rod offers in the US

SteelOrbis has learned that import wire rod offering prices for the US from Turkish mills have remained stable in the past week, with most offers still ranging from $1,400 /mt to $1,410 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports.

Offering prices for low carbon rod from Chinese mills for the US have remained at the same range as last week, with most offers ranging from $1,240 /mt to $1,250 /mt CFR FO US Gulf ports. There is a $15 /mt extra for 5.5 mm, and availability of different grades and sizes is still very limited. For boron-added rods, Chinese mills are offering at $1,150 /mt to $1,160 /mt, not including a possible tax increase for these rods, which the buyer would have to share with the mill.
