Import wire rod offers in the US

Chinese wire rod offers now range from $445 /mt to $455 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports. This is a $10 /mt increase since last week. Many Chinese mills are now putting restrictions on grade 1008 and 5.5 mm size rods. Turkish mesh quality wire rod is still being offered for $470 /mt to $480 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports, a $5 /mt increase from last week. Drawing quality import wire rods are being offered for $500 /mt to $510 /mt CFR FO in US Gulf ports. Offers at the lower end of the price spectrum are from Turkey, and the higher priced offers are coming mostly from Egypt and the Caribbean. Some South American mills are aiming for prices $10 /mt - $15 /mt higher than the above.
