How will weakened support from scrap affect Turkish rebar export offers?

As SteelOrbis has heard from market sources, Turkish rebar export offers are still standing at $590-600/mt FOB on actual weight basis, indicating no changes over the past two weeks. The softening in the price range of the latest import scrap bookings has resulted a weakening of support for the rebar export offers of Turkish mills. Thus, Turkish rebar export offers are expected to soften in the coming period.

Ex-Turkey rebar deals have continued to be concluded in the above price range in North Africa though for small tonnages, while offers for Israel are standing at $610-615/mt CFR though demand for these offers has remained weak. Meanwhile, Turkish rebar offers to the UAE are at $590/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis, but demand is low and so no deals have yet been concluded in the UAE at these levels.

Weekly price movements of different steel products in major markets can be viewed comparatively in the SteelOrbis Historical Steel Prices section. Market trends can thus be seen more clearly, while desired charts can be created and used in reports or presentations.
