According to market sources, ex-CIS billet offers to Turkey have increased by $8/mt over the past week to $285-290/mt CFR, for November shipment. Meanwhile, Turkish buyers’ firm bids are in the range of $280/mt CFR, but have not been accepted by CIS-based suppliers. Even though Chinese billet offer to Turkey have decreased to $260-265/mt CFR this week, some Turkish producers are heard to have concluded deals for Chinese billet at $255-260/mt CFR after negotiations. For this reason, interest in ex-CIS billet has declined among buyers in the Turkish market.
