SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers' price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

498-505

Thrace

492-498

Izmir

489-495

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, wire rod prices in the local Turkish market are currently at $485-505/mt ex-works. Market sources state that Turkish wire rod producers are maintaining a firm stance on their prices with the support of increasing import scrap prices. Despite the decent wire rod demand in the Turkish domestic market, some steel producers have been focusing on production of rebar instead of wire rod. Meanwhile, both buyers and sellers in the Turkish market are cautious about concluding wire rod deals amid the fluctuating trend of the US dollar-Turkish lira exchange rate and so some wire rod producers have avoided announcing their prices on TRY basis.
