SteelOrbis has learned that ex-Turkey rebar offers to the Yemeni market have increased by $10-20/mt since last month to $595-605/mt CFR on theoretical weight basis or $575-585/mt FOB on actual weight basis. No deal has been concluded at these price levels, while ex-China rebar offers to Yemen are at $550/mt CFR on theoretical basis.

Meanwhile, due to a dispute over the quality of rebar shipped by a Turkish producer to Yemen in previous weeks, shipments from the producer have been kept waiting at the ports of Aden and Hodeid, while purchasing activity from Turkey has been postponed. Market sources state that the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) has started an investigation in relation to this matter.
