Egyptian steel producers announce sharp hikes in rebar prices

According to market sources, Egypt-based steelmaker EZDK Steel has increased its rebar prices for May production by EGP 805/mt ($91/mt) as compared to prices for April production materials to EGP 5,875/mt ($662/mt) ex-works.
 
Meanwhile, Egypt-based steelmaker Beshay Steel Group has raised its rebar prices by EGP 750/mt ($84/mt) to EGP 5,600/mt ($631/mt) ex-works, while El Marakby Steel Co. has increased its rebar prices by EGP 1,025/mt ($115/mt) to EGP 5,800/mt ($653/mt) ex-works. Also, Egyptian steel mill Suez Steel Co. has announced its rebar prices at EGP 5,825/mt ($656) ex-works. All prices are for May production and include eight percent VAT, while increases are compared to prices for April production materials.
