Market sources state that Egypt-based steelmakers EZZ Steel and Beshay Steel have kept their October production rebar prices unchanged as compared to prices for September outputs, with prices remaining at EGP 4,800/mt ($697/mt) ex-works, including eight percent VAT.

The trading volume has remained at good levels in the local Egyptian rebar market, while activity for imports is almost non-existent. Meanwhile, the issue of a possible antidumping investigation against Turkish rebar has not gain clarity yet, and so under these circumstances no new rebar offers have given from Turkey to Egypt.
