There is some confusion concerning rebar prices in the Italian domestic market. Depending on producers, their prices are at €335-355/mt ($358-380/mt) ex-works for 12-28 mm rebar, i.e., stable compared to last week. According to sources, the domestic producers who are exporting less are more aggressive in the domestic market, while the opposite is true for those producers who are more committed to the export market. Generally, demand remains very weak in the domestic market, though there has been some moderate restocking activity in recent days, as end-users' supplies had declined to very low levels.
