According to market sources, domestic producers' prices in the local Italian wire rod market have indicated a small increase compared to the period before the Christmas holidays.

Domestic drawing quality wire rod prices in Italy have risen by €10/mt week on week to €440-450/mt ($466-477/mt) delivered to customer. According to market sources, this price level should be maintained at least until February amid the absence of competitive import offers and support from increased scrap prices.

Meanwhile, demand in the local Italian wire rod market is not particularly strong, but it is moderately satisfactory. Due to negative weather conditions, the current period is not the most favorable for the construction industry, but other sectors, including automotive, have been performing better in comparison.
