According to market sources, billet prices in the Turkish domestic market are still standing at $519-535/mt ex-works, stable since last week. Local mill Kardemir has failed to receive any demand for its local billet sales, opened on August 6, while demand in the overall market is on the poor side. Meanwhile, the transaction volume in the Iskenderun region is limited and export activity from the region to Iraq has ground to a halt.

On the other hand, Ukrainian billet offers to Turkey have been stable since last week at $520-530/mt CFR, while it is heard that a deal has been concluded to Turkey's Izmir region at the low end of this range. In addition, Russian billet offers for Turkey can be found at $540/mt CFR for shipment in October.
