After the weakness of demand seen last week and the market’s quiet start to the current week, demand in the local Turkish rebar market has improved slightly in the middle of this week. With rebar demand improving after the ex-Baltic scrap deal heard in Turkey on July 18 - which confirmed the ongoing upward movement of import scrap prices - domestic rebar quotations have switched from a downward to a rising trend. As a result, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have increased by TRY 5-20/mt compared to price levels recorded on July 17.
