SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers’ price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Marmara

440-450

Thrace

438-447

Izmir

435-444

Iskenderun

430-435

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, do not include VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

According to market sources, wire rod prices in the local Turkish market have started to range at $435-450/mt ex-works, decreasing by $20-25/mt week on week. Market sources state that demand for wire rod is very weak in the local Turkish market, while buyers prefer to postpone their bookings due to the uncertainty resulting from the ongoing downtrend of raw material prices. Also, Ramadan is playing a role in the downtrend of wire rod prices and slack demand in Turkey.
