SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers’ price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

Region

Price ($/mt)

Price change ($/mt)

Marmara

345-355

5

Thrace

330-340

5

Izmir

355-365

2.5

Iskenderun

325-335

5

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

Prices in the local Turkish wire rod market have decreased over the past week due to weak demand, downward pressure from buyers and decreasing import scrap prices. Despite this downtrend of wire rod prices in Turkey, demand has failed to increase with the effect of the seasonal slowdown in January and February. Demand in the local Turkish wire rod market is expected to start to recover when the spring season begins.
